H-A-P-P-I-N-E-S-S

H-a-p-p-i-n-e-s-s……

A smile puts back everything that was wrong in place. A pleasant face is everyone’s delight.  In fact, in the initial phase of knowing a person, most people decide the kind of person you are with your approach.

All of us do that- I can proclaim.

Whatever the reason is, a smile is a smile; it makes you look cheerful and glowing! It is something all of us look forward to, as it reflects at least some aspects of your inner self.

An aspect that has no boundaries, no age and no time and all of us want it, and want a good share of it! Without any hesitation each one of us will admit, it is happiness…!!! You will also agree that people try out different mediums to achieve it, right from learning the art of living, to visiting a therapist, to becoming a disciple of people who you think can help you reach the state called happiness.

Well, no offence meant, I completely believe it is a personal choice.
The medium you choose is not important; reaching your goal is what matters.

So, what is happiness?

I think happiness does not have a definite answer, but your heart does that certain jump and makes you smile endlessly.

I would say ‘happiness is a daily decision.’  It is a state of the mind and does not come from somewhere else but within one's self. It comes from appreciating whatever one has, however "small" or "little" it may be.

Well, this state of mind is only possible when we are able to accept everyone, every situation as they are, at every moment.
The conclusion is that, it clearly means an end to judging or resisting, an end to complaining and blaming, an end to criticizing and controlling and an end to competing with anyone!

Most of us assume that happiness depends on physical objects and possessions,   and we conclude that possessing these things is going to make us happy.  I am no exception, and would include myself in the list of ‘most of us’, though, not always!  But is that true happiness??

All of us at some point of time in our lives would have discern that, little things in life, like nudges of affection, a kiss from your parents, a hug from your dear ones, or to make it even more simple, dancing to the favourite song of yours or mere getting to see an old photograph of yours could bring the happiest moments which no possessions can bring. The memories kindled by these little things in life are what truly make you happy and that is indeed HAPPINESS!

Having said that, I don’t claim everything that happens to us is pleasant and we must consider it pleasant.  There will always be unpleasant situations, it is life after all! But again, if we choose to look at the brighter side, we will derive the courage to move on.

I know, sometimes it is not easy to do this, but keep trying, keep moving…never give up.
There will always be a bright side in any situation no matter how "bad" it seems to be... thus, happiness also becomes an option! The option to be happy or not!  Make the correct choice and LIVE life, not mere exist.

I would sum it up and say-

“Happiness is a smile graced on a face and a laugh fixed with a beautiful melody.
Happiness is beauty in a song that you've never heard, but know all the words to, because life is short and being happy is the first thing you want to be.

Happiness is closing your eyes, taking a deep breath and getting tears in your eyes because you just love life.

Happiness is staying simple, but being the best person you can ever be.
Happiness is dancing to a beat that carries you on a thin air.

If you are able to blend with all of these, then say ‘yes’ as loudly as possible because, it's no miracle—

—That's happiness happening right there.

Kaleidoscope….

Colours of life..

I like the fact that I display prominent traits of a Piscean; rather I am a typical Piscean- curious, a little spiritual and a true dreamer. I put in a great deal of emphasis on the realities of life, and love to find happiness in the smallest things life offers. The creator has offered us a variety of things and it all has something to contribute in the process of learning- that is my faith. In fact, I prefer and want my life to be that way. I also believe in thinking about the unseen in my life, whether it is my own intuition, my emotions or the world of spirituality. Staying connected with life in every way possible and living it to the fullest is a way of appreciating and celebrating LIFE- that is my philosophy.

Being on a constant search for something, finding deeper meaning from the grand scheme of life itself, to my own social interactions, observing and absorbing the events around myself, making connections that other people would never even see, analyzing the patterns in the feelings and actions of other people, and trying to be insightful is what enriches me, and adds meaning to my life.

These are reasons for which I would like to call Life – a Kaleidoscope.

Very often, I plunge into my memories and spend many hours thinking and only thinking about various aspects associated with life. Being philosophical is what makes a complete me. What should be the constituents of an ideal life, to be called the best? This was what my recent thoughts were all about.
Food for thought, indeed!!

Well, I ended up concluding that, nothing except your approach and attitude can make it the best. There are no hidden secrets for it, as our lives are surprising, filled with uncertainties, some happy moments, some exciting moments, some very sad incidences, but the mystery is that, it is designed differently for each one of us, though all of us stay on the very same planet.
Amazingly formulated by the ace designer, GOD! Leaving us wondering, of the technology he used to engineer our lives- it is different and amazing, for each of us, isn't it??

Hence, I would say, it is LIFE which is the most precious gift given to us by GOD. It is a ‘present’, a gift in its true sense. The recipe to make the most of life is to wake up thinking that, our life starts every morning, as a new day is like a new beginning, and not everybody is blessed to make this new beginning!

Be exultant, to see another beautiful day; as no one really knows for sure if we will be there to see another day! Indulge in learning something new; utilize the chance to make things which were wrong, better or right.  Experience the charm of another new day, as all of us are aware of how unpredictable our lives can be.

The mantra I would prescribe for myself is to wake up in the morning with a thought of accomplishing at least one good deed before going to bed, even if it is as simple as making an attempt to fix a smile or give a sincere compliment to someone who seems low. Perform an act of kindness for someone I do not know. If not anything else, make your parents, relatives or friends feel that they mean a lot to you. The happiness on their face will add meaning to your life and can make it the best.

Let's make a difference!!!!

All of us are exposed to some kind of philosophy and spirituality, and each one of us connect with it, in our own way. We may vary in our approach to it, but the fact is that, all of us connect with it in some manner or the other.

There is a common statement we have been hearing probably from the time man has learnt to express his ideas through words-“life is changing, priorities are changing, life is not the same and so on.” But, the irony of life is that, a change is inevitable. That is how the creator has designed life to be. No one can stop it.

Now, coming to our relationship with the creator, it is said that everyone is born unique or it would be more apt to tell that each one of us has been created unique. But through the years we work very hard to be like everyone else!

We often forget that God has designed each one of us for a purpose, he has blessed each one of us with something which is different from the others, but finally, for some reason or the other, we end up aping, or trying to be like someone else!
An old saying goes this way, if you want to get what everyone is getting, do what everyone is doing.

The question is, by doing that; will we be able to achieve the purpose for which we have been sent to this world?

It is indeed a big question!!  It is very important and a very good option to realize what your passion is, pursue it and try to be different. All great people we talk about, are talked about, because they dared to be different. Take any example, from Thomas Alva Edison to Steve Jobs, from Rani Laxmi Bai to Dipika Pallikal, they all dared to pursue their passion. They dared to be different.

SO, WHAT DOES BEING DIFFERENT MEAN?

Being different means, not being afraid to challenge the norm.- Being willing to take a chance.- Asking why.- Making your own track, charting your own course and destiny and being the person that you were meant to be.

But what we need to understand is that, being different for the sake of being different is not enough. There must be real passion within you and it should be true to your vision.
The simplest thing to do to reach there is to ask yourself, "What is possible?" think and then act.
One statement which I believe is that “No one can motivate you as much as you can yourself.” Everything else is an external force, they can guide you, advice you, lead you. But the ultimate decision and action has to come only from you and only you.

It is only you who can take the lead and it is only you who can stop you.
Hold on to it. Think about it and let’s try to be different and make a difference!
